In order to search for a job successfully in Finland you need to know how to use a computer. Most of my clients have some experience in this but sometimes I have a client who has no experience of using a computer. I think we forget here in Finland that not every one has had the opportunity to use a computer and it is shocking when you meet a person who hardly knows how to open the Internet or doesn’t know how to send an e-mail. How will this person be able to search for a job?

IT- skills have become almost as important as knowing how to read and write. It is a serious handicap in Finland to be unfamiliar with the use of computers. Especially if you are looking for a job. A large part of the job seeking process is about sending e-mails, searching Internet job boards and filling in one’s CV on the many different recruiting companies web-pages. Therefore, it would be important to have easily accessible (and affordable or even for free) computer tutoring for those who need to build on their computer skills. It would be great to be able to offer this to those clients at Bridge who really need it.
